CONNECTING by Mariah E. Wilson

You are slow to connect
Like dial-up
Churning and grinding
Within your cold shell

I’m a high speed kinda girl
On the information super highway
And you’re still chugging
Up the on-ramp

Your archives are coded
You refuse to share the password
Perhaps if you did
We’d be buffering by now

Mariah E. Wilson is a writer from the central interior of beautiful British Columbia. She has been published in The Loch Raven Review, Every Day Poets, The Kitchen Poet, Walking is Still Honest and The Corner Club Press, for which she is also now the Poetry Editor.
